I have been using microblog.pub already for a long time. I had a Fediverse account in a community Mastodon server, but at a certain point I wanted to have control of my own instance, similarly as I have my own blog in my hosted server. An installed Mastodon server looked to me too heavy an option just for hosting my account.

Luckily, I discovered Microblog.pub, based plainly on the underlying ActivityPub protocol with a minimalist touch leaning on the IndieWeb principles. This worked good enough for me; however, I normally felt dissatisfied that I could not easily interact with regular mobile apps to track the posts of people I am following. Not any more. Despite the project forked through different people, finally I decided to devote some agent babysitting time to turn microblog.pub into the tool I wanted.

Among other improvements, now I can follow my Fediverse colleagues from popular Android or iOS apps. Of course, it will never be a full-fledged Mastodon instance, but I hope it can be useful for other people who want to keep a rich presence in the Fediverse using a self-hosted personal server.
